Yep, that’s not a typo, you read it right. What you are looking at is a 2000hp, roll-caged, 220mph, 3 tonne SUV. The worlds fastest. Brilliantly named, welcome to the Toyota Land Speed Cruiser.
A one off built for the SEMA show in Las Vegas by Toyota Motorsport, it is special. Very special. So just how have they got one of the biggest and heaviest cars on sale to LaFerrari territory?
Turbo’s. Big One’s. Two Garrett Turbocharges the size of moons in fact. Strapped to either side of the Land Cruiser’s 5.7l V8 and linked to an ATI Automatic gearbox which has probably been given one of the hardest jobs of all time – harnessing 2000hp and a 3 tonne SUV.
Barring the lowered stance and the full race car interior, if this pulled up next to you at the lights you could be excused of thinking its someone taking the kids to school. The only giveaway would be the X brace of the roll cage as it left you in a cloud of ‘what the f just happened’. Could the Toyota Land Speed Cruiser be the greatest ‘Sleeper’ of all time? It really is hard to argue otherwise.
