Last month we put together a Cars247 TOP TEN of the most expensive cars sold at auction, then three days later a Ferrari 250 GTO get’s put up for sale at auction that has the potential to take the top spot. This week we put together a Cars247 TOP TEN of the fastest accelerating 0-60 prodcution cars, now three days later Tesla have updated the P100D to take a podium spot away from the Bugatti Veyron Supersport. Its uncanny. Perhaps the Cars247 power reaches Elon Musk’s boardroom.
As stated in our TOP TEN the Tesla P100D went from standstill to 60mph in 2.5 seconds. An already astonishing time. In a LaFerrari that is astonishing, in a car that can take you and four friends to the airport is just next level. Elon Musk promised an ‘Easter Egg’ and here it is with an update to the software now taking you to 60 from standstill in 2.4 seconds.
Prices for the Model S P100D with Ludicrous mode begin at £114,000 / $140,000 but there is no official price on the software update just yet. The time of 2.4 seconds also needs to be made more official than Elon Musk on Twitter and confirmed independently. That’s when it will take the podium on our TOP TEN.
