The specials keep rolling in at Cars247. This week we have had the $2M+ Naraya and a $13M Roller. Now its a tuning houses turn in the form of Novitec. This rather awesome creation is a spawn of the internet famous Ferrari Novitec F12 Nlargo. Welcome to the brand new Ferrari Novitec 488 Nlargo.
You may be familiar with Novitec. Cars247 featured their 819HP Novitec Torado Huracan last year. This new Ferrari follows suit. Lots of red, lots of carbon, lots of awesomeness. Also, catch the new ‘colour’ Pirelli P Zeros which you will be able to buy for your road car soon. We will go into details shortly but just take a moment to take in this car. Occasionally something really special comes along. This latest Novitec creation certainly makes it into that category.
Simply Stunning.
You want one already. You know it, we know it. We could probably just leave it there but here’s what else you need to know before you sell your house and live in it…
Novitec has reprogrammed the injection and ignition and added one of the famous Novitec exhausts to make a nice 770bhp. That’s more than a ‘standard’ Ferrari F12. The standard Ferrari 488 GTB Coupe goes from 0-62mph in 3.0 seconds and maxes out at 205mph. This Novitec 488 Nlargo goes from 0-62mph in 2.8s, and maxes out to 212mph.
The restyled, worked over body is 14cm wider at the rear than the standard 488 thanks to wide arches, and wider, bigger, wheels – 22in to be exact. The body is styled to maximize downforce using slats and gills to cool those 770 horses. Such aggressive styling on the quest for downforce or looks in Monaco? – either way, it works.
Where aftermarket tuners like Novitec can really cash in is by lowering the car. You see Ferrari have to meet global regs on car height and as such all cars can seem a bit too high when they leave the factory. Novitec doesn’t have such troubles and has dropped the 488 by 35mm giving the 488 the look it should have had when it left the factory. The front lift kit option needs ticking on the purchase options list though…
Only 11 modified GTB Coupes and 11 488 Spiders will be built to this widebody, 770bhp spec with costs unknown. But with the donor 488 spider at $210,000+ it will be a nice sum. You may ask what is wrong with the Ferrari 488? Really, nothing – but you can’t help but think that with global regulations put on Ferrari this Novitec 488 Nlargo may just be the car Ferrari wished could leave Maranello.
